Halloween Contacts Can Make Treat or Treat More Fun
Halloween is one of the most colorful festivals of the year, and Halloween contacts can make it even more colorful. It’s the time of the year for jack o’ lanterns, costume parties, trick or treat, bonfires and just trying to have fun by scaring each other.
Halloween traces its roots back to an ancient Celtic festival and the name to a Scottish variant of “All-Hallows-Even” or the eve of All Hallows Day. Pranks played on Halloween have been recorded as early as 1780 and the custom of carving jack o’ lanterns came from the Irish and Scottish souling custom of carving turnips into lanterns in memory of the souls in purgatory.
As early as 1895, records show that children went in costumes from door to door, begging or singing for treats, or otherwise threatening to pull some prank if they did not receive any treats. This forerunner of Trick or Treat was carried over by European immigrants to the USA where costumes and practices from the old days have been pretty much preserved. Halloween has its traditional activities, games and foods prepared specially for the occasion. Games like apple bobbing, foretelling fortunes in walnut shells and telling ghost stories are mainstays of the Halloween festivities. Candy apples, roasted sweet corn and pumpkin pie are among the special foods associated with Halloween.
Costumes play a major part in the Halloween celebration especially for children who go Trick or Treating. Originally, costumes were limited to those of ghosts, ghouls, witches, devils and other scary characters. Over time they came to include those of superheroes and fictional characters until today almost any costume is acceptable. Holding costume parties during Halloween brought adults into the picture that was once purely a concern of children.
At costume parties during Halloween, people try to outdo each other in coming up with unique and interesting costumes. A creative and increasingly popular way of doing this is with the use of Halloween contacts. Contact lenses to change the color of one’s eyes have been around for some time. Incorporating special designs in the lenses has made them specially suited for special occasions like Halloween.
Special Halloween contacts like zombie contacts, vampire contacts, Twilight contacts and Terminator contacts are among a few of the wide range of designs that are readily available at optical stores or online. Halloween contacts are easy to use, may be removed after the party, and add a lot of fun and merriment to one of the year’s most colorful celebrations.
